Yeah, Bluesky seems more like a good replacement for Twitter. I was never a big fan of Twitter. I would love to hear more about MeWe.

I like having the more intimate experience one can have with longer posts and the ability to limit the audience like LiveJournal, back in the day.

I read something about tolerance that I think is the perfect answer to this. Tolerance is not a moral or ethical principle. It is a peace treaty. It only applies when both parties follow the treaty. It need not be applied to the intolerant who violate the treaty of tolerance.

Someone actually calculated it and it is generally a smaller carbon footprint. It's not one round trip for every order. It's a bit like the difference between taking carpooling and driving one person per car.

That sort of did happen to me. It was just so much more convenient than dragging the groceries up the stairs from the underground garage. Also, Canadian winters ...

But, besides being more convenient to have them arrive, it's a smaller carbon footprint than going to the store and back in your car.
