I don't think it's wrong to suggest a path of discovery, but the exact details of how to do that are gonna be down to the individual kid and their parents.

Depends on how you interpret the "Prime Directive". I think it's more important for parents to cultivate a supportive and accepting environment than to push a child in any specific direction.
