and to my aroallos/arospecs, how do you communicate sexual desire when romantic feelings are not present or only sometimes present/fluctuate? I don’t want my partner to feel like a sex object.

being partnered doesn’t equal automatic happiness or fulfillment. not being partnered (and I mean in an expansive sense, including platonic/sexual/queerplatonic/alterous/etc) doesn’t preclude you from finding happiness or fulfillment.

because defining yourself as not being actively a part of a romantic relationship signifies that it’s something that’s needed or expected of you and it shouldn’t have to be.
