I need to dig the Karr Alarm (yes, that is how it is spelled; it's a brand name) out of my car.

Something set it off early this morning and I suspect it was one of the neighborhood cats.

I really do not want to have to contort myself to get under the driver's side dash to find the module. x.x

I can see the #steammachine being HELLA popular in the #fgc if the price is right.

The Steam Machine, even at like $500, would be killer for Fighting Game events/casuals/tourneys.

Fighting Games need to be played at 60 fps, no more, no less […]

Backflushed my car's heater core today.

Haven't had heat on the driver's side since I got it. Checked everything else, mixer door, servo, heater core valve, nope it was the heater core like I'd worried it would be (they're cheap but to replace them you gotta take the WHOLE dash off).

Got one […]

Doctors in China have used lab-grown insulin-producing cells to treat a woman with type 1 diabetes. The cells were made from her own tissue, reprogrammed into stem cells, and then grown into tiny clusters that release insulin. A year after the transplant, her blood sugar remains normal without […]

I’ve been testing a theory: many people who are high on #ai and #LLMs are just new to automation and don’t realize you can automate processes with simple programming, if/then conditions, and API calls with zero AI involved.

So far it’s been working!

Whenever I’ve been asked to make an AI flow […]

Something Linux has really figured out in recent years — at least judging from my recent experiences — is printers. There are two connected to the network, and I replaced one of them today. It showed up in my printer list on its own, ready to use without any action on my part. Can't say the same […]

Bluesky's "content warning" tags completely miss the point about how CWs are supposed to work.

They're supposed to include a brief one or few words description of the content within so viewers know what they're clicking through to see.

Instead Bluesky has taken the supremely lazy approach that […]

... I am probably going to have to learn how to code a subset of RISC-V assembly all because of a Factorio mod combinator that I am *very* tempted to install and use.

This thing could almost fully replace an entire complex circuit all by itself […]

I don't like that people use security as an angle when criticizing the use of AI in KeePassXC. If a project accepts public contributions, this means there will be malicious actors trying to smuggle in code which weakens security. The project must therefore have a solid review process in place to […]

I bought a space heater that superficially resembles a wood stove, expecting the wood stove part to put out enough light to provide some nice cozy ambiance for my room.

It does not. :(

I'm now tempted to make my own (not as a space heater, but something purely decorative) that emits enough […]

The only way that you're getting us (me/Calyo) into hoof boots is by tricking us into trying on a pair that's been filled with glue so that we're instantly trapped and can't take them off and we're forced to clop around for who knows how long. 😤

... I shouldn't make this public knowledge but […]

Tonight, I got to eat corn-flavored ice cream again for the first time in four years. 🤤

Sil, Tera, and I went to a paletería that we all love here, tonight.

You're not going to find unexpectedly delicious ice cream flavors like CORN at a place like Marble Slab or Cold Stone.

No.

You gotta go […]

Wheeeee several coworkers are talking about "The *Communist* who took over NYC" and it's taking a LOT of my willpower to keep quiet and not get involved because it's just not worth it. 🙃🙃🙃🙃

-Each time you are aggressive about that kink, that friend is scared you will subject them to violent emotional abuse and abandonment
