Roger Ebert called it “A scummy little sewer of a movie”, and said that the makers of it should be ashamed of themselves.

I haven’t really heard people talk about this movie, but it has cult classic written all over it!

There’s a scene where he goes (naked) to the girls’ apartment and pretends to be delivering flowers so they’ll open the door.

The roommate looks through the peep hole and he tries to hold the flowers up high so she won’t notice he’s naked!

Absurdly wonderful!

Remember in American Psycho, when Bateman is naked and chases the girl around with the chainsaw?

The whole second half of this movie is that!

They should have called this Charles Bronson vs. The Naked Killer.

Anyway, the guy is Andrew Stevens, who was the horny killer in The Seduction. This time he’s a cop.

I love this movie!

The director is J. Lee Thompson.
He also did the original Cape Fear, The Guns of Navarone and the King Solomon’s Mines, that I just watched the other day.

It’s a Golan-Globus Canon film.
Right away, it has great dialogue, a synthy rock sound track, a sleazy/gritty feel.

Now the psycho killer is driving around in his VW beetle butt naked, just wearing rubber gloves, looking for someone to stab.

Amazing!

After the credits, there’s a music video of Little Richard singing On Top of Spaghetti.

Super random!

Basically, Disney gave a bunch of money to some guys from Empire Pictures/Full Moon to make a kaiju movie for kids.

I don’t know if people realize: The first movie was written by Stuart Gordon and Brian Yuzna; the Re-Animator guys.
Also Ed Naha, who wrote Dollman, Troll and CHUD 2

Gordon stays on as producer for the sequel along with Albert Band!
This has so much horror schlock DNA behind the scenes!

Yeah, that’s a true fact!

This was a fine little movie.
Maybe not an undiscovered gem, but it was solid and engaging.

I love this.
It’s kind of a low key crime drama with a dreamy noir way of presenting supernatural elements.

Fait Accompli AKA Voodoo Dawn (1998)

This is not the 1990 Voodoo Dawn with Tony Todd.

This one has Michael Madsen and Rosanna Arquette.

The director is Andrzej Sekula who was the cinematographer for Pulp Fiction and American Psycho.
