pokemon legends: z-a

i loved this game. i was very trepidatious going into this because none of the marketing was speaking to me, but this game's incredible. i love the city and love the characters, and the real-time battling is a great step for the series. i just wish it was more than knee-deep.

silent hill f

as of writing this, i've only finished the first playthrough and gotten the first ending that accompanies it.

this game is incredible. hinako is a compelling main character and the game is both beautiful and terrifying. ryukishi07 and neobards excelled in bringing back silent hill.

nintendo switch 2 welcome tour

why did i play this? anyway it's fine i guess. should've been free.

sword of the sea

had a neat time with this game. kind of quaint, and i feel it's a little weaker than its predecessors, but i loved how it felt to play and the artistic design was gorgeous.

metal gear solid delta: snake eater

i have a lot of thoughts about this game, obviously, but if i had to narrow it down i'd say this is exactly what it needed to be to bring back the series with the least amount of resistance. an incredibly faithful, but also safe, remake. i truly enjoyed it.

War of the Worlds (2025)

This movie was dogshit, but in the "grandpa doesn't understand how computers work" way coupled with being a giant Amazon and Fox News ad.

pokemon the movie 2000

rewatched because it was on youtube for free. still one of the better pokemon films. i forgot there's a weird al song in the credits.

donkey kong bananza

INCREDIBLE game. everything I could have possibly wanted from a new 3d donkey kong and a refresh of the series. the movement is tight, the terrain destructibilty FEELS good, the soundtrack is fantastic, and I love the new villains and pauline.

death stranding 2: on the beach

beautiful game and an incredible example of unfettered artistic expression. music was amazing, art direction exceeded the previous entry, and a story with somewhat obvious twists but with spectacle so bombastic and confident that you don't really mind.

deltarune chapters 3 + 4

really solid from start to end, you can tell immediately that there's a whole team behind this game now, and the story finally starts to have serious stakes. the character growth shown in these two chapters was really impressively written and makes me crave more.

mario kart world (grand prix - all cups)

I don't know how they took mario kart 8 and made it even better, but they did. very interested to see how they'll add dlc levels when this map feels so seamless and connected.

doom the dark ages

that was a pretty good doom. I was kind of miserable with the width and lack of verticality in some levels, but on average I had a lot of fun with this game. the new weapons feel really good when fully-upgraded, and I enjoyed the dragon levels a lot.

clair obscur: expedition 33

beautiful and melancholy, with incredible action and gameplay; e33 really lived up to its inspirations and is what I would call a generational rpg. I loved the cast of characters, and the party dynamic is a fun mix. I'm really looking forward to sandfall's next game.

monster hunter wilds (high rank)

i appreciate the freedom after low rank, but the drawback is the story missions (as few as there are) capping your hunter rank until you beat the chapter. always fun to bully gore magala.

monster hunter wilds (low rank)

a bit railroaded on story, but a really fun game and a story that i enjoyed. bro i need that cheesy naan.

full-metal alchemist reread

still one of the greatest. if you read arakawa's more recent work like arslan senki and daemons of the shadow realm, you can definitely see lessons she learned writing this applied in other works.

ghost of tsushima

incredible. i had been putting this one off because of its sheer size, but after finally playing it i can say this game was amazing. rough early game, but once the story picks up in the back half of act 2 i really got invested. i'm that much more excited for yotei.

death stranding

wish i had played this sooner so i could have avoided being spoiled on certain scene. a really unique and beautiful experience. i started out skeptical but by the time things really gelled, i was having a wonderful time.
