The side of her face collided with the pavement with a wet thud. Rain beat down on her, soaking through her cloak and sizzling as it hit her still activated lightsabers. A cauterized hole, as big around as her wrist, ran through her, entering just below her sternum and exiting a little below her right shoulder blade. Master Grayson had been a formidable duelist in her day. Fortunately for her, that day was at least thirty-five years ago. unfortunately for her, she was still one of the best duelists in the sector. Jinx spent a lot of years in the Jedi temple on Piltover getting her ass handed to her by Grayson. This time she had the last laugh, as the former battle master's head separated from her shoulders and rolled to a stop in the corner of Jinx's field of view. Glassy gray eyes stared, unblinking into the storm. Raindrops pooled in the inner corners and slid down her wrinkled cheeks. "I win. Jinx sneered at the corpse. She did it, she finally won against her With the last of her strength, she rolled onto her back. Her body screamed in protest, but she didn't care. No point in hanging on now, nobody was coming for her. She would die in this backwater shithole, and the galaxy would move on without her with a spring in its step. The raindrops hurtling down at her face slowed and stretched out into the infinite darkness. Turns out dying looked a lot like jumping to hyperspace, who knew? Jinx closed her eyes, and with the last wink of consciousness, she smirked. She would die the way she'd lived, ever since Vi left her on the steps of the temple. Alone in the dark with a gaping hole in her chest.

Forever finding new ways to make my blorbos feel pain
Vi knelt down to look the boy in the eye. "Someone killed my dad too, when I was your age." She wiped Vorn's blood off the knife and turned toward the boy, taking a half step towards him. He didn't flinch. Good, the kid had the instincts. "When you're older, and you're good and ready." Vi said, voice low and serious as a heart attack. "You find me. Don't worry about how, you'll figure it out." You find me, you bury this knife in my chest, and you tell me I deserve it for what I did to your dad." Vi wrapped the handle in a towel to swipe off her fingerprints, dropped it, and kicked it to the kid before pocketing the rag. It skidded to a stop at his feet. "It'll make you feel better. Probably." She stepped over Vorn's body and opened the front door into the muggy late summer air.
