the fact that sylvain and claude have very, VERY different relationships with their crests is enough of a factor that I just. cannot stand sweet gentle sylclaude lol. their relationship would be way more fraught and difficult to navigate in my personal opinion BUT people can do whatever they want

his pre-ts design is peak. in a world full of telling vs showing, his design affirms what the narrative says. the gold clasp that stands out from his hair + his head tilt, which implies movement, shows he specifically uses his braid to distract people from making direct eye contact with him (imo)
