Like God full throttle.
Did I forget that we had a Thursday game this week, until Reggie reminded me? Yes. Did I still come up with a meal? Also yes. Contender for best dinner yet? YUP.

This week was another trip to Mexico, featuring chicken tinga street tacos, black beans, and esquites - an off the cob elotes salad.

Yesterday’s game? Not thankful for it. Except the halftime show. That was good. Matt LeFleur’s mustache? A travesty.

While not entirely international, this was an excellent end to our meal - a pumpkin frangipane with a rosemary shortbread crust and rosemary sugar topping.

VICTORY MONDAY, after the MOST stress.

Last night’s dinner was from Germany - Rouladen with Spaetzle. I was unsure about the combination of ingredients - specifically, the inclusion of pickles and red wine, but once again I was more than pleasantly surprised by how good this was.

That was a ✨hot garbage✨ game.

This week’s meal is from Ghana - red red, served with roasted plantains and eba. Comfort food at its finest, it’s a vegetarian cowpea and palm oil stew that’s super rich despite being so easy to make. Which gave me all the more time to suffer while watching.

Much better game tonight, despite that third quarter Commanders drive narrated by the Cheeto in Chief.

This week’s recipe comes from the Commander’s NFL partner, the United Arab Emirates - Kabsa, an amazingly spiced rice and chicken dish, topped with toasted golden raisins, almonds, and pine nuts.

Whelp. I hated THAT game.

Dinner was delicious though - hailing from the NFL partner of the week, Brazil, we’re enjoying a black bean stew called Feijoada. I don’t want to repeat that game, but I think this will be a recipe that I repeat.

Our Lions game dinner this week hails from Switzerland - älpermagronen. This recipe is an upscale version of a comfort dish my mom used to make when i was a kid - noodles and cubed potatoes in a Gruyère cream sauce, covered in caramelized onions and lardons, with a scratch made tart applesauce.

This week’s NFL International partner for the Lions/Chiefs debacle was Mexico, so I finally got to try my hand at Birria de Res. I was actually impressed at both how hard I nailed this recipe AND how not a single offensive hold was called in the Chiefs during the game.

Love watching two cat teams duke it out - the Bengals sure tried their best. BUT we tried just a little bit harder.
Today’s international NFL partner was Canada, so we made a batch of poutine and butter tarts. It felt like I went a little too easy but man was this delicious. Good game, cat teams!

Did we get stressed today? Yes. Until Khalif Raymond saved the day. Do we need a three score lead to not be anxious? Also yes.

This week’s international NFL partner is Nigeria, and one of my most involved recipes yet - Jollof Rice and Dodo. Absolutely delicious and a total blast to make.

Literally on the edge of our seats for last night’s game against the Ravens. But staying up late was worth it!

This week we visited the UK, and made a full English breakfast. So much fun to cook but waaaay too much food.

It’s Paella Time! And also time for another victory against the Bears. I will forever pray for their downfall.

Week two (Spain): Paella Mixta with chicken thighs, pork tenderloin, and shrimp. Bonus points for saffron and garlic from my garden.

Detroit Lions football game day tradition: themed meals. This year’s theme is making a meal from whatever country the opponent’s team has been assigned through the NFL Global Market program.

This week (vs. the Packers) took us to Ireland for coddle and soda bread. Tasty meal, awful game.
