when they do it right they do a really good job at getting across that this is not a clown, this is something far worse that is just constantly champing at the bit to do horrible things to kids and is barely able to restrain itself

the House expanding into both the real world and the digital world and the horrors that ensue was also a plot point. unless I'm mistaken I think Danielewski still sells PDFs of the scripts for the first couple episodes on his etsy

it ultimately didn't get made but there were plans for a House of Leaves sequel miniseries on netflix that went in a really weird direction. the pilot opens with Danielewski facing serious backlash over House of Leaves because it came out that Johnny Truant and The Navidson Record are actually real
