Minority citizens here are also being abducted, even when we have our papers on us, even when we’re military veterans. Demographic change (with Latinos leading population growth) is the root of this White panic.

Not if you study the original Thanksgiving era from a native perspective.

The only issue many immigrants from places like the Philippines and Cuba seem to have with authoritarianism in their home countries is that they were not the ones on top. Given the white population decline in the US they must think they’re next in line to be “white” as once happened to the Irish.

I took AMTRAK from Tampa to NYC this past summer. Got a roomette, which meant I could work, sleep, and eat without dealing with people. More expensive and prone to significant lateness to point of arrival, but less crowded, quieter, more private and relaxing.
