There is a distinct possibility that a significant proportion of the American population could stop vaccinating their children because of political indoctrination, which feeds health misinformation. That baffles me.

I've finally started collecting data for my systematic review and meta-analysis: The association between malaria infection & absenteeism in school-age children. It will be the first chapter of my Ph.D., studying the impact of Intermittent Preventive Treatment (IPTsc) for malaria in school children.

When you do something to your parasites that you hope they hate and the next time you check them they look like trash.

I spent the last 5 years working on phase IV evaluations of the RTS, S/AS01 malaria vaccine. We followed up 6250 children for 5 years and noted minimal adverse effects. It personally offends me when people are antivaxxx and won't listen to people who work to develop and test vaccines.

The unfortunate thing about health misinformation in the USA is that it doesn't end there. It spreads. During COVID, we were fighting misinformation and vaccine hesitancy here in Malawi. I fear what will happen with the next pandemic!
