I thoroughly enjoyed this wonderfully engaging book by @bendorgrosvenor.bsky.social. It takes a refreshingly long view with genuinely new insights into such well-known works as the Uffington White Horse; Wilton Diptych; Holbein’s Ambassadors and Lawrence’s Mrs Wolff among others. Highly recommended
