Help me understand this policy that #Anthem #BCBS is making for anesthesia billing? Basically, if a surgery runs longer than THEY think it should, they just stop paying??

The remaining bill just goes to the patient! What happened to the No Surprises Act??

Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield says it will put time limits on anesthesia care starting next year. Doctors and elected officials, including in New York and Connecticut, are asking it to change course.

Eg:

I will be leaving for the #ASRA fall meeting in Las Vegas tomorrow. This meeting focuses on chronic pain, but what things related to #RASky should I keep an eye out for? What about peripheral nerve stim for acute pain?
