Lastly, I left the National Portrait Gallery inspired. My goal is to post quotes made by previous presidents that were in office during tumultuous times. I intend to start with Lincoln since I purchased a few books about him. I hope these quotes inspire others to read about past presidencies.

2) After reading those summaries, I reminded myself that our nation survived those presidencies. I have hope that our nation will survive the current climate but it will emerge in fragile a state. As citizens, we must work together to build it back to a healthy state.

1) Our nation has elected presidents who didn’t have the best intentions for the highest office in the land. They wanted power and were greedy. History is repeating itself because we do not study or talk about those administrations. Thus, we have not learned from those mistakes. 3/4

Their presidency. While I was reading their highlights, there were presidents who engaged in questionable activities way back in the 1800s. These presidents acted in ways that remind me of the current occupant. Reading those summaries, two thoughts came to my mind. 2/3

This week I was in Washington DC for work and I visited the National Portrait Gallery. I didn’t have much time to tour the entire building but I stopped by the Presidential Gallery and saw portraits of all the former presidents. Each portrait has a dates of their term and notable highlights of 1/3

Former President Jimmy Carter has passed away at the age of 100, according to the Carter Center. RIP Mister President.
