Marie Curie Postdoc at Copenhagen Business School; Scholar of Business History, Entreprenuership, and Modern China; Working on a book about informal organizing in the Maoist era
One of my dissertation papers was awarded a prize at Academy of Management - Public and Nonprofit Division. The paper reveals how market administrators in Maoist China selectively enforced anti-market policies, reshaping institutions from below and creating the conditions for tacit market creation.
Congrats to @dr-frost.bsky.social and Sandeep Pillai, winners of the AOM-PNP 2025 / IJPA Best International/Comparative Paper Award for "Selective Deinstitutionalization: Informal Institutional Adaptation in Maoist China"! #AOM2025 #pasky

My co-authored article was awarded the Gordon White Prize from China Quarterly! The article offers a counter-narrative of China's economic development, revealing the scope of underground market activity even during the height of anti-capitalist campaigns in the 1960s-70s.
Congratulations to ‪@dr-frost.bsky.social‬ (of
Copenhagen Business School) and Zeren Li (of NUSingapore) who have been awarded the 2024 Gordon White Prize for their article "Markets under Mao: Measuring Underground Activity in the Early PRC” (OA).

I recently gave the inaugural talk at the ABC Research Seminar in Lund. It explored how informal entrepreneurs in China transform urban space in ways that afford new social possibilities for marginalized populations.
