anyways i think the beamNG drive devs made a short guide on how to improve performance by cutting down on trigonometric functions. I don't know if they have any speedups that do this by reducing precision.

i say this to people who are spiralling because their memes and fire emblem slop does better than the art they care about and see as uniquely theirs.

more people retweeted that shit because its like decor on their blog and doesn't require viewing in isolation. Do you wanna be a thomas kinkade mug?

isekai works for this. Like ok cool you're an expert in modern mechanized combat? Well too bad now you have to command a unit of elephants.

people dont wanna pay road tolls because they already pay a lot just to drive their car. Fact is the infrastructural costs of paved roads, interchanges, overpasses, and bridges; suburban sprawl in general; are fucklarge. inefficiency has consequences for the private finances of the masses.

amazing, also a cool anatomy lesson. The larval stage of insects bears a much more obvious resemblance to a crown arthropod's body than other crustaceans.

its one of the most divisive issues in recent history despite being something you'd think is unanimous.

and everyone with even a modicum of authority in the usa happens to be clamoring for a bloodbath.

i would also like to say, respectfully, that a lot of people go into university with the idea that the world will be subservient to them and make few demands of them while the rewards pour in. i at least see many people strangely unsatisfied with being paid 5 times the median individual income.
December 26, 2025 at 5:42 PM
well, i would kinda call this a morale issue if anything.

the idea that you should do a good job just for the sake of doing a good job often just feels stupid in the current environment and doubly so in the moronic tech sector.

its not possible to be the only good apple.
December 26, 2025 at 5:38 PM
none of that ACTUALLY bothers me of course.

im more bothered by the way machines and tools change our minds and our process.

see: those doctors

million examples of this of course, and i could imagine some fairly benign outcomes if it werent for the stupid hype train.

but as it is now? fuck no.
