This is such a great thread on immigration and population demographics over time. I was particularly struck by the incredible video of South Korean demographics. Wow. Links well to Hein de Haas calm, academic book on this subject

I have recently visited the museum of Danish Resistance in Copenhagen. I was really struck-and moved- by the collective response by the Danish government to the racism of the occupying Nazi regime

But migration- whether illegal or not- is a complete red herring. We need migrant workers to fill the roles that UK workers can’t or don’t want to fill. This benefits us and our economy. Instead they are scapegoated. People turn to the right when inequality rises. Great book below 👇🏻

Reform is also blaming people’s genuine lived experience of hardship, poverty and inequality on a completely false narrative of immigration. This distracts from effective solutions to these problems and creating a toxic environment for migrants and refugees

I can’t recommend this book by Hein de Haas strongly enough as an evidence-based discussion of migration

There is an AI system that is being developed to be used with training- can identify missed cues and then summarise consultation and learning points. Sounds interesting. But not , I agree wisdom. Book below talks about how “centaur” combinations are probably the best way we can use this tech

Thank you @syjameel.bsky.social for a fabulous talk at the Peninsula GP trainer’s conference. SO much content, new concepts and ideas- from Phronesis to Berwick’s 3rd era to recognising, valuing and nurturing wisdom as a unique characteristic… this was powerful and inspiring
