Still think that we’re all ignoring how incredibly excellent (and efficient) City were. I believe it’s by some distance the best performance by any team in the Prem this season.
LFC were below par, and a little slow first half, but it wasn’t a disaster. It was just not very good.

Four if Ibou had connected with the header in any other way apart from glancing it onto exactly that part of Haaland’s forehead, and the deflection had gone wide or straight to the ‘keeper.
They dominated, and deserved to be ahead, but the margins were still fine.
That’s footy I guess.

Hence ‘McAlmont and Butlercember’ where we celebrate the end of the positive fast.

Counterpoint: the press was there and actually well organised at points but:
A) Quarter of a yard off sometimes because of previous week’s work/still getting used to coordinated press
B) A few times City were *incredible* at passing out of the press. We had them boxed in, everything right, and 😮💨

Yeah, but the more avenues for folks to find out what he did after Hillsborough, the better. A genuine hero. And secondary to that, also a hero on the pitch.

What’s, not surprising, but notable, is that the thing that works is the thing most people innately thought would: remove the square pegs, the clearly not-there-yet left-back, and go back to the midfield that won last year.
Revolutions are always more effective when they are piecemeal.
