The chaos, the carnival-like atmosphere, and the self-inflicted wounds are routine in this town. I had to escape to Arlington National Cemetery just to find a moment of peace and tranquility. #dc #iwojima #washingtonmonument #lincolnmemorial #capitol #tulips #netherlandscarillon #spring #tariffday

When you go out in this town, you’ll encounter interesting people, inspiring individuals, unique characters, clowns at both ends of Pennsylvania Avenue, and a little bit of everything in between. 🙂

One morning, I asked my parents to join me for a walk at a nearby shoreline to find the barn owls that had been spotted in the area. My mom wasn’t a morning person, but she still got up and braved the cold, foggy morning to come along. I hope you're roaming free in warmth and light, mom.

"Til death do us part." On our way back to the parking lot, I spotted this couple—the woman was pushing a man in a wheelchair, both almost hidden behind the tall, golden grass. What drew me in was the sense of companionship and human connection in that quiet moment.
