As the stock market continues to plummet, even more on day 2, Fox News manages to focus on something (anything!) else.

Excellent speech from Elissa Slotkin. Scott Jennings on CNN is already being an a-hole.

I thought the most moving moment was the kid with brain cancer, though felt he was used too much as a prop. And I have a kid who went though a life threatening situation so I have a sense of it. But how ironic and awful that NIH funding for research is being canceled.

This is absurdly long. It must be intentional. Push the Democratic response late? Show that he just owns the room?

I think all this talk of peace is 100% his trying to get the Nobel Peace Prize. He has never ever previously talked about wanting peace, I just want peace, etc. the way he has been. He doesn’t care about anyone or anything except himself.

From the movie Dave, a good lesson:

The first time you get in trouble, blame me. The second time, sit down and write a letter.

Trump has used his token many times over.

Just called out Marco Rubio as “we know who to blame if anything goes wrong” and then followed up to suggest his high vote count in confirmation was a bad thing. Lil’ Marco is on borrowed time.

Melania continues to look like a hostage. I don’t presume to know what goes on behind closed doors, but she looks like she hates him.

This has gone on way too long and is just a rambling stump speech. It went off the rails like 45 minutes ago.

"But at the same time, we have taxpayer dollars, we have a fiscal responsibility to use taxpayer dollars to pay people that actually work....but perhaps they’re not fit to have a job at this moment, or not willing to come to work."
Trump lawyer Habba on fired veterans: 'Perhaps they're not fit to have a job at this moment'
The Trump administration is engaged in an effort to slash the federal government workforce. Military veterans make up nearly a third of federal jobs.

First reported more than a week ago -- and as yet, this has not been undone. Republicans appear to have not said a word about it.

@abbyphillip.bsky.social @cnn.com @scottjennings.bsky.social Why is Scott Jennings constantly on his phone during appearances on CNN? Shouldn’t he be able to stand on his own feet? Is he getting fed talking points while on live TV? Notes for redirecting the conversation? I don’t see others doing it.
