I suppose but I also think power drives men, particularly, a bit insane. When everyone around you is dependent on your largesse, you start thinking of people as disposable zilches. Your addictive and destructive tendencies get amplified.

Well what if there isnt a return to “normal” (which wasn’t working anyway) but this is an opportunity to reboot government in a far more democratic and dare I say it socialist way? Reading Audrey Tang Plurality at the moment.

I agree with Richard Wolff that the Tesla luxury car for self conscious wealthy progressives was always a bad idea as we needed to focus on affordable public transport instead, but collapsing the US industry really adds insult to injury

Someone like Bezos should be smart enough to know that complicity with a fascist regime ends in tragedy and torment even for wealthy industrialists. But I guess history doesn’t repeat but it rhymes as they say.

They say absolute power corrupts absolutely: do you think Musk / Trump have been driven insane by their power? It seems like that to me. Obviously Musk had this stuff in his background but to openly embrace Naziism is just so repugnant and the ultimate troll move. Seems not sane.

More Qs for you if you want them! What are you feeling about Substack? It has changed my life but l also feel this narrow casting or disintermediation is part of the problem… how to build a movement when everyone is so silo’d? The incentives work against cooperation.
