Violence begets violence, we know this. But what we don't always understand is that violence comes in many forms and violence doesn't always respond in kind. Emotional and verbal violence can beget phy. violence. We have to stop verbal and emotional violence so it doesn't escalate to phy. violence.

Due to a whoopsie in distributing I lucked out and got this amazing book 2 months early. I'm only through the intro and already know @carmenjoyimes.bsky.social has done it again. Pre-order your copy today and don't miss out on this book. If you haven't read the first two, what are you doing?

"Perhaps this is not the world we would have chosen, but it is the only one we have. Either we resign ourselves to the evil it contains, or we register a protest against it. It begins with a cry that is only stilled when we hear the Judge of all the Earth...

Is the Switch 2 going to be the Wii U? Should we just wait for a Switch 3 or whatever the next system will be called? The only game I wanted to play on the WiiU was Skyward Sword and ended up just playing it on the switch.

Last year in Ireland we saw a stained glass window of the day of Pentecost. First time I can remember seeing this event depicted in stained glass. #ireland #hilloftara #pentecost

In our church gathering we recite the Apostles creed each week. I changed the wording from "I believe" to "I trust" and not sure I can go back. #creed #apostles #allegiance

Discussed at church today Acts 4:12, what is salvation referring to in this passage? Context doesn't seem to imply the saving of a soul for heaven.

I assume most people would gloss over this verse thinking it's obvious what is occurring.

IMO: Salvation = Shalom, new creation, kingdom of God.

The Green Ember series is a great collection of books. I've enjoyed reading them to my kids, even my oldest (15) who hates to read gets caught up in them.

The Kickstarter has an add on for 11 audiobooks for $55, great way to get caught up.

Caesar is not allowed in the Kingdom of God. Caesar is a usurper and those who try to allow Caesar into the kingdom are mutineers to the one true king, Jesus. Be allegiant to Jesus.

People struggle with scalability. We look at the govt spending billions on things and think it's wasteful, but if you scale it down to your budget a billion dollars might be a couple dollars a month, it's the equivalent of telling someone to stop buying Starbucks so you can buy a house.

In America, the gov't handles the bulk of social services. This leaves less for the Church to do. In that vacuum of responsibility I think the Church has done what most people do with excess finances, spend it on non-essentials. In these times they should be looking to fill the space left by gov't

Had a conversation with a new employee who needed to flex her schedule for an appt and wasn't sure how to go about it. I told her to take the time she needs and not worry about putting in 8 hours for the day. You could just hear the unburdening in her voice.

It seems like when people talk about the book of Hosea they get hung up on the prophet marrying an unfaithful woman. But that's literally the smallest part of the book.

It feels like YHWH is going through the process of heartbreak. To think YHWH is indifferent towards his creation is mind boggling

I was looking on Goodreads and they had a list: Books Everyone should read once. It contained over 33k books. To complete that would take 80 years reading more than a book a day.

I feel that list should be paired down a bit 🤣

Why is the NFL 17 weeks? Besides money. I don't think the games are any more meaningful, we should go back to 16 and get to the playoffs sooner.

Then everyone else who didn't make the playoffs does another tournament to obtain the #1 overall pick.
