PhD candidate at University of Exeter, writing on cultural trauma in the book of Job.
A little late sharing this as I was busy getting married on the day it was published, but my review of 'Comfort in the Ashes' by Michelle Keener can be found in the journal Practical Theology! Highly recommended book for those in pastoral roles.

Last night more than 20 uniformed police, some equipped with tasers, forced their way into Westminster Meeting House.

“No-one has been arrested in a Quaker meeting house in living memory”

Quakers in Britain strongly condemned the violation of their place of worship

✨ PhD thesis submitted! ✨

(Since the modern method of submitting online is decidedly anticlimactic, @hannahfytche.bsky.social helped me take some celebratory photos in Cambridge once a printed copy had arrived!)

Had an excellent morning in Cambridge talking about trauma in the Hebrew Bible with a fantastic group of people. Session included Job, Lamentations, and plenty of conversation on how the Bible can (and cannot!) be a resource for traumatised individuals. Thanks for inviting me, @karenod.bsky.social!

It's increasingly difficult to navigate social media, especially as a values-led organisation that uses social media to recruit new students, but the move from X to Bluesky was a simple choice.

Now we could use your help finding our people on this new platform! Follow and repost if you love:
