World faker, picture taker, furniture maker. Author of BITTER BREED and DEAD RECKONING & OTHER STORIES.
When I bought my first CD player in 1987, I had money left over for just one CD, and I chose Ozzy’s live Tribute album to Randy Rhoads. It was the perfect 1st disc, which I still have. Sleep well, Mad Man.

Things can always be worse, so here’s a family of geese I had to slow down for just now.

As a kid, I couldn't believe the same man that made the impressionistic The Elephant man also made the bombastic Dune. That the same filmmaker could make such vastly varied work. I was quickly hooked. What a loss to art.

HWA members: this is the last day to recommend works for Bram Stoker consideration. If you've read & liked my novella BITTER BREED (Long Fiction), or my short stories TITHING (Frontiers of Fright) and SHADOW KIDS (Writer’s Retreat: Tales of Writing and Madness), give them a kind nod. Many thanks!

75-year-old mahogany that comprised the bar-top & backsplash of a mansion's parlor, saved from the dumpster! Now to strip it, and then, what to build with it?

Very honored to have my short story, "Tithing," a Lovecraftian take on "The Lottery," included in "Frontiers of Fright: A Southwest Horror Anthology," out by the Denver Horror Collective! a.co/d/h6A4Hft

This labor of pulp love is a month old! Thank you to everyone who's read and commented on "Bitter Breed" thus far. If you'd like to post a quick, honest review on Amazon or Goodreads, I would be additionally grateful. It's the best way to set those algorithms straight. a.co/d/grpJLJX

FURIOSA: A MAD MAX SAGA was an absolute blast. If FURY ROAD is a perfect, 2-minute punk song, then FURIOSA is a 12-minute Pink Floyd epic. It’s an experience. The trailers do it little justice. Please catch it on the biggest, loudest theater you know.

Excited to share that my story, "Shadow Kids," about the costs exacted by past and future ghosts for literary immortality, appears in Writers Retreat: Tales of Writing and Madness, by January Ember Press.

You MIGHT be a badass, but you will never be I-painted-a-young-Steve-McQueen-mural-on-the-side-of-my-house level of badass.

I first saw Andre Braugher as Thomas in “Glory.” But I’ll always most remember him as Detective Frank Pembleton on Homicide: Life on the Street. Brilliant, seething, and indomitable. Total powerhouse. 61 is too young. You will be missed.

Cleaned up the tiered planter and replaced dead spring flowers with herbs. The fragrance knock you on your rear.

I love a well-balanced horror section where King, while deservedly present, doesn’t overwhelm the shelves.

I was going through some phone notes for inspirational quotes, and I jotted this line from Cormac McCarthy’s “The Passenger” regarding Hiroshima, and froze me like it did when I first read it:
