Journalist Farid Mehralizada of @rferl.org.web.brid.gy has been unjustly detained in Azerbaijan since May 2024. One of 300+ political prisoners there, where the regime increasingly pressures independent media for reporting the truth. Authorities must drop the baseless chrages & release Farid now

Human rights-not least the repression of civil society & rights defenders-must be among those topics (per POLITICO). Parliament itself noted concern last month, calling for Hoda Abdelmonem's release. "European values" can't only count when convenient to EU's immediate economic & political interests

Congratulations to the awardees of the 2024 U.S. Secretary of State Human Rights Defender Award! It was an honor to share space with them and with fellow advocates from government & civil society and an inspiring way to commemorate this #HumanRightsDay .
