Oh yes, and I had nothing but trouble from my pen almost the entire drawing. 🤣 I had to change the ink cartridge near the start of it and the ink flow was very stubborn, so my lines became even more inconsistent.

I drew the picture freehand from this shot, trying to get it as close as I could by sight without taking forever. I had some room, so I slightly extended the picture using other images of her for ref.

I did her right eye exclusively in ink, but from then on used pencil before inking. I'd initially drawn the second one so poorly that I had to cut it out and continue drawing on the next page. :p

I haven't done much crosshatching, so this was fun practice.

Pretty sure I sketched the smiling titan on the day or the day after that I first started the show. Truly a winning smile, it seems.

I'm low-key obsessed with drawing like this. :p

Reuploaded 'cause you shouldn't copy/paste text from your posts on the other site without making sure it didn't auto-translate something. XD

Good to know this is a Frog 1 Frog 1 from Parasite Eve Parasite Eve.

I've just recently gotten into sketching with only ink. I did a few personal critters before this, but I'm fairly new to it. This guy was a fun practice run. I want to do more—maybe lightly trace parts for a more accurate shape, but I don't want too much of a crutch.... 🤔

I started with the intent of a lighter sketch and then got into it. :p

Nothing was traced, so some proportions are off. All was drawn with a Jot calligraphy pen, except for the skin pattern, which was done in grey ink with a dip pen.

antique look of the clip art, so I cut this fish's tail off and multiplied sections of its fin.

It's all just a fun, what-can-I-make-out-of-this, between-big-art hobby . . . although I haven't done a lot of it so far. :p

For the mermaid, I wanted a very specific pose and angle that I wasn't likely to find in old clip arts, so I took a photo of myself with wet hair and traced it.😆 I almost drew her tail, too, but I felt it defeated the purpose too much and my style stood way out from the distinct

preferably old clip arts I find online or in my big ol' clip art book.

For the mermaid and the Cthulhu each, I also looked for some free old parchment images/textures to lay over them.

The Cthulhu one was a lot plainer.

The mermaid's plight could be taken as a straightforward "Little Mermaid" situation, or she could be a metaphor for something different. I know what I know. What do you know?
