The Cthulu tree topper I made for our daughter’s tree this year. It had a couple of LED puck lights inside.
The Cthulu Christmas tree topper was sculpted in Zbrush and printed in clear PLA filament on my bambu p1p. I think I spent all of an hour on the sculpt. It came out pretty good.

I started this about a decade ago. Noodle some, put it away. Noodle some more, put it away. I think I am ready to 3D print, after a bit more noodling. Too much noodling can kill the energy of a piece. For me finding the balance is tricky, so I let it age.

I have always had a passion for Native American cultures. I have always had a passion for fantasy and myth. The traditional Bison hunter has been done better by others, so why not blend fantasy into the mix? I have been doodling a Bison Mintator most of my life, so this hunting tableau was a no brainer. The hunter down to his final arrows, and the hunted making a final charge off the bluff. Who wins? The twisting anatomy of the horse and rider is tricky. Almost commited to this. I am pleased with the rider's anatomy in this reverse view, teetering on the brink of disaster

I briefly worked on ID:Resurgence. It was a sprint every day due to the short prep window. A nightmare, but met some great people in the art department.
The alien Queen in her armor. The schoolbus indicates scale. The digital sculpt phase in Zbrush. The concept art is by Patrick Tatopoulos. Lovely chap. He was actually doing production design on a different film at the time and would zoom in on his motorcycle twice a week to give notes. Once his involvement was done so was mine. The alien skull was a physical prop. I sculpted all of the interior spaces as well sothe 3D print wouldn't just be a shell when it was crushed. This was a noodler's paradise. The Queen as patrick envisioned. Originally she was to be elegant and frail outside of the armor. Almost pathetic. I banged this out on my last day.

Hmmm...I'm always hesitant on social spaces, more of a lurker/gleener, but Bluesky seems to be more my speed so here goes.
