Took a walk to say g’day to two of my neighbours. Dante (1921) was unveiled by the Italian-American community on the 600th anniversary of his death. Joan (1922) was a gift from French women to American women on her 500th birthday. These statues were part of a wave of cultural diplomacy in the 1920s.
