I manage people and stuff in the cloud. I play video games. I keep a diabetic cat alive. I collect retro computers and game consoles.
1920s? You mean the 1970s, right? Because I certainly wasn't allowed to be left-handed in school at the time.

Oh fuck off. Carol meets every single trait of someone with APSD, colloquially referred to as sociopathy. Perhaps if you pulled your head out of your ass, you would realize that the character you identify with is such an asshole she's actually mentally ill.

Same goes for current games. If someone wants to enjoy the content they paid for on "story" difficulty, more power to them.

What in the actual fuck does the orange monkey have to do with it? Don't make stupid comparisons involving fictional characters just because you want to make political points.

And yes, she most definitely is a sociopath. Just because you don't understand that doesn't mean it isn't accurate.

Carol.

So, three replies later, that's what I would like to see more of. Human stories, set in extraordinary circumstances, with people who show growth of character and manage to make things better.

Not sociopaths bent on taking revenge, which is what Pluribus actually is.

Being a huge Asimov fan, I was disappointed in the first season of Foundation, but felt that the following seasons improved significantly. Still not much of an adaptation, but interesting none the less-- and good science fiction once they stopped trying to make it Game of Thrones in space.

Both of those were great shows, though I still need to finish The Expanse. A more recent show which I considered fresh was Beacon 23. I am looking forward to seeing what Amazon does with Stargate.

To me, science fiction should be about the human condition under extraordinary circumstances.

I would only point out that being abused earlier in life doesn't give one carte blanche to be an asshole as an adult. I'm all for a good redemption arc, but I'm not seeing that. I'm seeing someone who's still just manipulating the others out of grief and self-pity.

Don't be so patronizing. I started watching this show because there isn't a lot of decent science fiction being produced right now, not because I'm a fan of Vince Gilligan. The amount of good science fiction hasn't changed, unfortunately.

Every cat in my house is a rescue of one form or another. My old man diabetic was from a shelter as a kitten. Two girls from a bad home. The last and youngest girl a feral who lived outside until she decided otherwise. She's the best. Didn't plan to have 4 cats...

That take from the Atlantic is why we can't have nice things.

Generally I agree with you, but this seems like a self-defeating take.

We'll see how things look in a year or so, but right now my ideal Dem ticket is Newsom/Buttigieg.

That sentence sounds like something an AI would generate...

You're not missing much, Hulu Live TV is horrible.

I would suggest checking out DirecTV Stream.

I'd love to read your article, but your pay wall is ridiculous.

...it becoming extremely stale and losing it's way ala Lost.

My take is that it's ok, but would've been better served as part of an anthology than as a stand alone (multi-season!) show.
