Gun background checks are a joke, they obviously don't stop the mentally ill people from purchasing a weapon.

If you live anywhere near Denver CO and you are interested in Astronomy, I highly recommend you visit the Chamberlin Observatory, run by the Denver Astronomical Society.
When I lived in Denver I went several times a year.

I saw the Canadian Snowbirds in 1993 at the Denver International Airport Grand-Opening Air show. They were every bit as talented and dedicated as America's Thunderbird's and Blue Angels. Very precise in their maneuvers.

Today I saw a Fawn wading through the water.
Two years ago I saw an adult Deer in these same waters (circled, pic 2).
Maybe it's a family trait, because it's the only time I've seen deer wading in a Lagoon.

Trees can often be destroyed by lightning strikes. When lightning hits a tree, it usually travels just below the tree's bark where there is a layer of sap and water.
This layer becomes instantly heated and expands causing the bark to be blasted off the tree and sometimes splitting the wood.
