His thought process was likely along the lines of ‘things are probably fine’, so he just rolls with it. He’s got the attitude of ‘what’s the worst that could happen?’ And to him, the answer is nothing, because he believes he’s invincible.

He was a bit weirded out by the situation. He could tell it felt off. But he didn’t care. Because this situation has probably never happened before. Why would he ever think a sinner was trying to trick him? Lucifer barely even recognizes he and sinners live in the same plane of existence.

Yeah, he got tricked by Vox. He very willingly walked into what was obviously a trap. And it fit his character fucking perfectly.

It’s why he won’t attend the trials, it’s why he ignores the Sins despite their efforts to reach out. It’s why he hardly engages with Charlie most of the season despite living in her hotel.
He doesn’t want to try. He just wants to live every moment happy in his own fantasy world.

He ignores the problems in his personal relationships because acknowledging the problems means he has to deal with the problems, and dealing with the problems is difficult and requires effort.

Everything Lucifer does is in service of distancing himself from his reality and environment as much as possible. Because above all else, he fucking hates the life and circumstances he’s trapped in.
