FDR pop-art.

I've seen versions of his portrait in so many stories of our American lives.

I wanted to keep the shadows & darkness (using the LP record itself without painting), while stylizing the pop-art elements.

During the Ashuri (Assyrian) siege Judith rallies the leadership & decapitates Holofernes with his own sword.

I took the painting by Caravaggio as the basis for my version. I wanted to capture her darkness against her light.

But even her shadows contain shadows.

Last week we observed Yom HaShoah (Holocaust Memorial Day), reminding us of the price of not having a Jewish State.

Tonight we observe Yom HaZikaron (Israel Memorial Day), reminding us of the price of having one.

May all those in need of healing find comfort and love.

I’m so glad, Senator Van Hollen, that you went to El Salvador to demand the release of your constituent, Kilmar Abrego Garcia.

When you get back to DC, can you ask my NJ Senator Andy Kim to do the same for his constituent, Edan Alexander?

Thank you to every volunteer with our CSS - Community Security Service who stands shift this weekend to protect our synagogues and our Jewish communities.

They are parents, children, neighbors. They stand up for those they - we - love.

“The problem with the lone wolf theory is that there has been wolf after wolf, … We are starting to see a pack emerging.”

I was grateful for this interview and to talk about CSS - Community Security Service and how to keep the community safer.

“In chaotic situations, preparation is the key to maintaining clarity.”

A terrific article by my colleague Aubrey Farkas Harris of our CSS - Community Security Service on training and the Los Angeles fires.

The absolute evil of well-fed, suddenly-uniformed, rapist murderers surrounding the hostages. Thank God the first three are coming home. May all the rest come quickly back.

Our CSS - Community Security Service has had a long relationship with our friends at the Pasadena Jewish Temple and Center.

We’re heartbroken to see their damage in these fires and encourage you to send your support.

In Jewish tradition, seven is the perfect number.

Seven represents the week of Creation, the seven Noachide Laws for all, the seven colors of the rainbow, the seven species and so much more.

But tonight is the eighth night.
And eight is different. …

Tonight is the sixth night.

It's the night that's one-less than holy.
