This sounds great, and this was going to be the first time I decided to pay for independent journalism. Then I got to the part where it says that it's on Substack. Now I'm conflicted. I'd appreciate people's opinions on the tradeoffs.

They were masked too. We can't figure out how they were infected. Believe me, I'm not saying that people shouldn't take all the preventive measures that are available to them, exactly the opposite. Be careful, everyone.

I second the opinion that this variant is nasty, but two of the people closest to me were fully boosted and still got covid.

Here in Michigan the term that I hear is "lawn extension." And by the way, this strip is usually in the right-of-way of the city (or whatever the local municipality is).

Unless I'm reading this wrong, this seems like a pretty small sample considering that there have already been over 500 mass shootings in 2023. I'd be interested in seeing a more comprehensive survey.
