U.S. military members take an oath to support and defend the U.S. Constitution, and officers take an oath of office upon commissioning. Both oaths require a promise of loyalty to the Constitution, which has been interpreted to mean loyalty to the nation, not to any single leader or political party.

Doesn't matter. We know there was no habeas corpus. Even if they were adjudicated drug traffickers, it would still be illegal to kill them.

I guess that only applies to the service person who receives the order directly from the Genghis Conman, since that person would then be giving an illegal order to someone one step down the command chain, irrespective of where it originated.

Let's see if I get this: because everything the president orders is legal (as it's an "official act"), he is protected but the service people are not, meaning they must carry out the heinous order and be subject to prosecution - or be insubordinate?
