I felt extremely connected to Laszlo, for many reasons, and I think the film’s power is in its ability to appeal to a lot of different people. It succeeds in universality while maintaining a clarity of vision.

Pretty sure these were the first DVDs I ever bought on my own, from a Criterion sale. I couldn’t afford a Blu-Ray player so I watched them on my laptop. High and Low still one of my all-time favorites.
