@mrjamesob.bsky.social Something to discuss on the show? Have the BBC already been beaten into cowardice by Trump and the right wing?

Took me a moment to realise this wasn't someone arguing with themselves. A rare 🌻 on 🌻 situation.

If it saves me having to queue up and put all my shopping through a till at the end of my shop, I'm all for it 👍🏼

Scan and go, baby.

It's actually quite difficult to find a sun reader with such an advanced reading age.

The Russians must be gutted. Paying all that money for pro-Russia propaganda when there are idiots like Farage who were willing to do it for free 🤷🏼

I like the Idea that if you reach £1 billion you get a certificate and a big medal to tell everyone that you "won". You are then a billionaire for life, but all future earnings go to tax/charity/workers/whatever. No one ever gets more than £1B.

MAGA don't care. They are so far down the rabbit hole / uneducated that they believe if it's done out in the open then it CAN'T be corruption and bribery.

Crazy the number of holier-than-thou coffee snobs here. £3B in UK sales? A lot of people must like it 🤷🏼

Regardless of the perceived quality of their product, I agree that if they don't want to pay tax their fair share of tax, they are very welcome to fuck off.

Studies have shown that people suffering from dementia can have fantastic recall for events which happened decades ago, especially if it's something they love, such as music, baseball, soccer etc...

In Trump's case I assume as money is his passion, these events will come flooding back to him.

Again, under my rules they can freely advertise these things. They can say "order now for Christmas", they can show Christmas trees and the like, it's all good.
It's the addition of Christmas music which will be the key. The impact of doing so will be disproportionately punitive. Ruinous, even.
November 20, 2025 at 12:18 PM
This is where the tax breaks come into play. If adding Christmas music to your advent in November is going to hit them in the pocket, they'll soon knock it off 👍🏼
November 20, 2025 at 11:33 AM
Do consumers really need a "Christmas advert" for them to realise Christmas is coming? Companies advertise all year round, we're just asking them to hold off the Christmas music until December 😊

I'd agree to an extent. Our newspaper industry has certainly gone that way. However TV news, although seemingly right leaning in terms of the tone of stories and often the actual stories they chose to cover, is still pretty much fact based for the most part.

This is not the case in the US.

That's not what she's said though, is it? You are using quotation marks, you really should quote her verbatim.

Remember, BadEnoch doesn't make gaffs 🤦🏼
