Had my first Heady Topper tonight. Not a beer guy anymore but figured “when in Rome” aka Vermont.

I can't remember the last time I was personally this invested in a Supreme Court decision, but I'm on pins and needles about the TikTok ban. All indications so far have been that the ban will be upheld which gets me excited.

This is 100% a huge national security issue and upholding the ban a win.

Jealous of everyone in the Midwest and Mid-Atlantic getting snow. We need it up here for the mountains 🎿 ⛷️

Been playing with Sora again tonight before the unlimited videos go away. Last night I was finally able to get it to create well-done, realistic scenes. Tonight, I've started doing mashups (i.e. "Lost" but the cast is the Muppets) and it's unhinged. I think so far it does well with "simple" prompts.

Hozier doing Fairytale of New York on SNL last night was a perfect call for this time of year. Not to mention it’s a year since Shane McGowan passed: youtu.be/dAwGJBn32FM?...

Had my company holiday party last night in Boston. I had to plan the whole thing because I've got the most direct reports in the office so that aspect is always stressful. It went fine though, and none of us needed to be bailed out of jail.

In the next few weeks I'm going to start using this thing more consistently. Have had this account for well over a year but it's not until recently that you really see the shift happening (i.e. BSKY links shared on Reddit). The migration of well-known accounts and journalists was the momentum needed

Sora is very fun but I’ve yet to be able to create anything like some of the featured videos on the front page of the site. Even when you basically copy their prompts and settings, it comes back kinda wonky and cartoonish.

It could be that I need to get better at it, which I definitely plan to do.

Woo-hoo! Finally just go access to Sora, really excited to start playing around with making AI videos. ✨ 🤖 🎬

Ugh, still can't get access to SORA so I can start making AI video slop ☹️

Would be great if BlueSky could recapture the atmosphere of early Twitter. I was part of that crowd, and even though it was mostly politics, we'd have so much fun during sporting events or just goofing off with hashtag games that thousands would play at a time. 2008 through like 2013 Twitter was 👨‍🍳😘

Just finished @bloomberg.com's podcast Foundering (season 5) about OpenAI and Sam Altman. Very good breakdown of the company and it's history, and opens the legit questions about what Sam Altman's motives really may be: www.bloomberg.com/foundering

Like a lot of Americans, I started looking at what moving to another country would look like recently. I have EU citizenship, but I also visited Australia a couple years ago and loved Sydney - it's like Boston with a Cali-style beach. Plus they speak english, plus I'm probably related to some of em'
