Is there an upside to this? I remember a Planet Money story that libraries get worse deals on digital rights than they do on physical print, so maybe print on demand at least keeps that pipeline open for them. Provided of course people go for physical copy instead of queuing for digital.

I remember when detergent came in gigantic boxes twice the size as they do now. When the current "concentrated" versions came on the market a CBC reporter asked the company rept on air if the reason was because the old versions had more fillers... a very sheepish "yes" was the answer. 😂

Coke was always a lot bigger, but Pepsi became a food and snacks company so it didn't matter as much to them. Also: as some way on the internet said, Diet Coke doesn't need advertising, their customers buy it by the caseload anyways lol.
