Are you looking for a great way to directly support the local arts & culture scene in Vancouver? Seats & tables are still available for the Dr Sun Yat-Sen Classical Chinese Garden kick off gala fundraiser. There will be Hanfu performers, great food, silent auction. DM for details

I'm sorry TransLink this is just mean. Nowhere to sit, no overhead cover to protect from rain or sun, located on the side of a busy 5-lane overpass right before the Lions Gate Bridge, & to top it off this route is *regularly* filled to max capacity during rush hour. #PlanningFail

For what it's worth, the "No Invading Allies Act" has been introduced to prevent Trump from invading Canada, Panama, or Greenland without approval from Congress. Kinda seems like a dictator's gonna dictate either way though

Hey West Vancouver: this is a literal death trap. It's the only way for pedestrians to get to the nearest bus stop by the Capilano River. Coworkers and I have already slipped & fallen. Can only imagine what it's like for people pushing strollers, in wheelchairs, or the elderly

Ok Tinder, this notification is kinda creepy. Either this was written by AI, or it's a poorly thought out marketing campaign lol

Maybe it's an aging thing, but I get so much joy sometimes from raising my eyebrows at people who piss me off. It's like saying: "no, YOU'RE the crazy one", without actually saying a word

During my morning commute on yet another bus packed to absolute capacity, I'm suddenly curious what the net worth is of TransLink's CEO. No reason

Hey Vancouver: replace the word 'migrant' in this article with 'homeless person', and you'll see why trying to ship 'undesirables' to your neighbors is an awful idea straight out of Trump's playbook

One of the implications of the framing of online users migrating from TikTok to RedNote as "refugees", is that people everywhere NEED online spaces free from government or corporate propaganda to express themselves, share ideas, and learn about the world freely 1/3
January 20, 2025 at 3:49 PM
With the recent shift of users to RedNote/Xiaohongshu, Americans & Canadians are shocked to learn how cheap grocery bills, cars, rent, cell phone bills, purchasing a home etc is in China. It's becoming obvious that we're being taken advantage of by our own govts & oligarchies

There's an ad on TikTok that's encouraging people to take out cash advances in order to buy groceries. What the heck

Cities and countries should never be run like a business. Businesses are motivated by the profit incentive. Governments should concern themselves with much more than just turning a profit
January 8, 2025 at 3:24 PM
Is it possible for the federal government to set price caps on certain types of groceries? Kinda seems like a better solution, than handing out tax credit rebates for a few hundred dollars after the fact
