For me its turned into a backlog buster. I think ANY handheld would probably achieve this but as a gamepass sub having the access to gamepass games is encouraging me to actually boot up and finish South of Midnight cause the format perfect for a game like that.

Hoping he's got his focus back. Go on young man.

Im done with this argument.

Leave you with this which will help fill in your gaps.

Very fine with being against idea of kernal level access. But it's an effective way of detecting and blocking cheats as they are attempted to be made and sold

You do know effectiveness is not measured by perfection but instead sizeable improvements from previous iterations?
Kernal level anti cheat gas proven far more effective than previous anti cheat software techniques. It also is a means to allow hardware bans which reduces repeat attempts once caught

you can have your opinions but to call them not effective is stupid.

Maybe. I'm not a dev, plenty of games seems to be fine on?

Anyway, you mentoined why get windows, just sharing there are legtimate reasons for it as well even if you don't care about it.

I play a ton of gamepass is mine.

I also find the kernal concerns overblown. A ton of things like drivers also have kernal level access. Its a concern with open unregulated software getting kernal access. Yes you're putting some trust into these companies but you are when you install a display driver as well.

Steamdeck has sold 6MM units, i imagine it is not a primary target for those selling cheats and those looking to use it so hey maybe that should be reason enough for now, to rely on server side cheat recogniztions for linux. But it can obviously become a bigger issue in the future.
November 13, 2025 at 5:54 PM
Linux Kernal is open hence why they can't just use kernal anticheat. Easy Anti Cheat which is kernal based on windows, has foregone that requirement in order to support Linux but the security feature set is not identical at all. I think thats fine today, but will it be if Linux grows as a platform
November 13, 2025 at 5:52 PM
I think trying to categorize kernal level anti cheat as "lazy" is wrong. Its effective and its why the top competitive games use it. Fine with concerns about its deep lying access but sorry i play EA games, COD and Valorant regularly.

if you don't, then no worries!

You want to play Apex Legends and Battlefield 6

Not sure if left the market is correct, but Valve is beating xbox to this kind of market for sure. This is litearlly xbox's new plan.

When did I say I don't like their opinion? The review was well written. I've explained my point a number of times already. Telling me "don't read it" is silly.

Seemed like a big focus for Gears 4/5 as well.

Confusing the sleep bug only impacted the base ally.

This missing feature imo is absolutely embarrassing to not have. Makes the product feel not premium. Hell, the Armory Crate library is just a more visually premium experience.

This feels like an unnecessary footnote when xbox has only had one high sales volume console.

In all sincerity I enjoy this spirited disagreement btw. Thanks for the discourse. I understand your views on it, just find myself disagreeing.

2 star review in a sea of positive reviews won't either.
November 10, 2025 at 10:44 PM
Making an editorial about the reason you're not reviewing creates a visible protest.

Feel like people are assuming I'm defending the use. My preference is no AI personally though this is a better usage then just doing full AI with zero voice actors. I'm very ok with the critique. Just if I'm buying a product I want to know if it's good/fun. The final score is not grading it on that
November 10, 2025 at 10:39 PM
Yes as I've already explained. Not once have I yelled about a low score. My point is for his critique that falls to me an opportunity to make a point not reviewing our of protest instead of a 2 star review getting lost in an aggregator where people will not even know why
November 10, 2025 at 10:35 PM
1. Bad comparison as voice actors agreed to the AI model usage and nothing was stolen.

2. Yes. Don't review a product you have ethical disagreements on. Write an editorial explaining why you have choosen not to.

What's even the point of doing 2 stars. Just do 1 if making a point.
