Our honeymoon was in the Galapagos, and they really do just ignore you, except for a little side eye as you walk past. But they're on every rocky outcrop along the beach; hundreds of them. It's like walking along a coastline millions of years ago. Amazing creatures!

Really appreciate it. Tbh it's the most important segment of the week! And really interesting, too.

Looks like they've forgotten to make it available as a podcast (again). Will it be on your website please? Thanks

Oh wow that's amazing, good for her (and you!). I'll have to keep an eye out on IMDB for future credits 😁

She looks like she's doing a hair commercial with those luscious locks! 😁

Fair enough! I would call that unusual but absolutely accept that it's your experience 🙂 If children are sent to childcare, I wouldn't use the word parenting myself, but we're all different!
November 26, 2025 at 12:25 AM
Exactly! And I got it in the neck for even suggesting it 😂

Oh I absolutely have sympathy for anyone feeling like that, and I hope you were and are okay. But the OP definitely implied they were talking about their own experience of parenting and not that they hated nursery or preschool, which is what childcare generally means in the UK and other countries.

Anyone reading the first sentence "I absolutely hate childcare" should be forgiven for thinking it refers to paying people to look after their kids. It's only the rest of the fess that makes it clear they're talking about their own parenting
November 25, 2025 at 10:23 PM
Correct. I grew up in England, where childcare refers to paid child care.
November 25, 2025 at 10:20 PM
You know, it's entirely possible that I'm not American and actually grew up in England, where childcare refers to paid child care 🙄
November 25, 2025 at 10:19 PM
Yes, they absolutely mean "parenting", not "childcare". Wrong word used.
