Ok. Hopefully, 2026 then.

Surely there are a lot of other “half” countries in the 17.

Too timid - we need decisive action to rejoin the European Economic Area yesterday. Every month lost is more lost small and medium businesses, fewer jobs, and a heavier tax burden to compensate for all the lost revenue.

I’m not sure I follow your logic. The main reason Johnson was elected was because the principal alternative offered to British voters was Jeremy Corbyn.

So “Project Fear” was not only correct but actually a massive understatement….
November 20, 2025 at 10:10 PM
Probably Britain’s most underrated PM ever.

Scotland may be based in Canada - almost “home” matches ….

Love it. Congratulations Scotland!

And no one concerned about economic growth in the UK has any credibility if they do not acknowledge the need to rejoin the European Economic Area ASAP.
November 14, 2025 at 10:41 PM
A lot of British people believe the same. But most politicians are not responding to voters wishes on the EU. They wish the issue would go away.

“Where’s my pressie?”

While your points are technically correct, I think the criticism is that Lib Dem position on Brexit has been timid, hedged and not clear, decisive and well advertised. The economic situation is urgent and requires a swift return to the European Economic Area (customs union as well as Single Market).

It has been such an open goal for so long that the question has been why other leaders haven’t gone there before.
October 22, 2025 at 9:58 PM
Thanks for the heads up.
October 21, 2025 at 1:39 PM
So it turns out that good and tariff-free access to the EU market is important for British industry and prosperity…. Who would have known?
October 10, 2025 at 8:38 PM
One would hope that telling the truth would be a winning strategy. Certainly, after 10 years of lies and gaslighting, I would like to hope that many Brits crave a politician who tells the truth.
September 22, 2025 at 12:33 PM
That plan likely needs to be in two steps: 1. Quickly Rejoin European Economic Area to revive the economy (referendum not needed); and 2. New referendum to rejoin EU (this will take longer and rejoining would also require approval of all current EU member country parliaments).
August 9, 2025 at 4:49 PM
Perhaps true. But Britain’s relations with the EU are too important for our economy, health service, security, food and environmental standards, governance that they should not be subordinated to the temporary interests of a political party. Better to have a rational plan to get back on track.
August 9, 2025 at 4:45 PM
It’s almost two to one. Massive, unmistakable and robust result.
August 3, 2025 at 4:18 PM
Yes, but rejoining the EU will require another referendum. The immediate goal should be to move from the hard Brexit that happened to the softest possible Brexit, specifically rejoining the Customs Union and Single Market.

Insurers are simply pricing the risks as they are. If they misprice risks, they go bust. The problem is climate denialism, which encourages and facilitates people living in increasingly risky areas.
July 8, 2025 at 3:13 PM
They are not really alternatives: rejoining the CU + Single Market is likely to be a step towards rejoining. Rejoining is a bigger, longer-term objective. It would require a referendum in the UK and approval by all existing EU country governments.

Britain benefitted from British students studying in continental Europe, and continental Europeans studying in Britain.

Thank you Plaid Cymru for your common sense and contribution to the welfare of Wales and the wider UK. We all want what Northern Ireland has.

One of them scored a ton of goals for England; the other facilitated Britain’s greatest economic self-harm since 1945. I know which is the patriot.
