Anyway all this to say that if you want to support trans people, ask or notice what their obstacles are, and use the power of a colour printer and giving yourself a job title. Then recruit others who see the logic. Then make yourself obsolete. Happy birthday to me, and work for the living.

For how we would treat them and the practical action we would take. A cishet man in the data team became one of the biggest allies, changing names and logins for students who transitioned in year. The system now works so well that trans students don't even see a need for most of it. Obsolescence!

Trans Mentoring programme, which was actually just me signposting students to local services like Gyro and drawing up a memorandum of understanding. This went on for seven years. I introduced the Navajo charter mark to the college and made sure that every trans student had a meeting and a contract

Start a programme but a year before I had been told we "had no proof" that we had gay students, (in an arts college) so this seemed to be a non-starter. I saw a notice board was unused so I used my keys to jimmy the lock on it and made it an LGBT notice board. I put up a poster advertising my

We have an apple and quince festival here every year and I got some quince membrillo. Added some to a curry yesterday in place of tamarind and it worked great

They usually want to know the difference between a stout and a porter. And they're always interested in the fact bitter is a pale ale, they probably trot that out!
