Trying my best, and failing, to become the best fantasy author I can. In the meantime, we tweet.
Well they are being shipped out on Monday, so any day now is a lot closer than we think!

May we all find wives who will laugh at butt jokes out of nowhere.

Exactly! Not to mention, backgrounds are so much better than having to go through a book to look up the skills you need to assign.

Yeah same boat. Not to say 5E is a bad game - I mean, it was good enough that advantage/disadvantage has become widespread in F20 games - but I just feel like 13th Age did it all better.

Plus, backgrounds. Backgrounds will make every game better.

Yeah, I was surprised how much I loved 13A because I took one look at both 3e and 4e and said, "I'll stick with World of Darkness / Warhammer Roleplay 3e". 13A was the first F20 that I actually wanted to play.

What I really liked about 13A was how streamlined the combat was - monsters are wicked easy to map out, distances are very broad, theater of the mind over grid maps. Backgrounds are the best thing that RPGs have ever ignored. Icons as published were meh, but lots of ways to homebrew improvements.

I also went all in on the 2E Kickstarter - gotmyself a regular edition, collectors and the art book.

The thing I find funny about my love for 13th Age is that I am not good at imrpov AT ALL - my notes tend to be 3k words. Tons of exposition, multiple preplanned paths that lead from a to z, etc.

I know all about 13th Age, since I've been playing it ever since it got published. Demon Lord and Draw Steel seems like it goes in the exact opposite direction. What do you like about them?

I have never even heard of the Scarred Lands, but I am also a perpetual make my own setting GM.

I always considered it more of the "I have never rolled a d20 in my life but by God do I love big numbers" class.

13A has been my F20 game of choice ever since the 1E came out, and I do not agree with that at all. I always pitched it as D&D where combat is fast and fun, without the tactical bullshit. It emphasizes theater of the mind - that is the exact *opposite* of tactical play!

They weren't my first RPG.

That would be Mage: The Awakening.

Oh man, that was my first fantasy RPG. I loved all the physical bits. Half the reason I am interested in Daggerheart is because of the cards.

I think it's The Gap. Could be wrong

Its like FFXVI in that the English cast IS the intended cast. The French is the dub.
