It'd be kinda like making a single-player game multiplayer retroactively, vs. changing a multiplayer game to allow more players. DW1 is coded for 1 character, 1 inventory, 1 target for enemies. DW2 changing 3 characters to 4 is still a lot of work and impressive, but achievable without overhaul.
