Versus the US we’ve been radical left our whole lives. Free healthcare, free universities, social benefits, etc. We’ve also had Labour in government coalition who are left in Irish circles. All our governments have been left of US, but in European circles central to left. PDs as right as we’ve had.

Yeah - it’s wild he welcome to White House. 95% of people in Ireland vote left. There is no appetite for the far right like Trump/McGregor here atm. Also, the presidency here is more a figurehead (like a king/queen) with very limited powers. We have a Taoiseach (prime minister) in real power

He’s not running for President of Ireland. He’s talking it up in a silly accent and voice to a US audience. To get on the ballot for Irish presidency you need support from the councils or members of parliament. Out of 949 councillors surveyed not one supported him. He’s despised in Ireland.
