Yes, lack of customization is a thing, that was only offered really on the 3DS, street pass again only on the 3DS. The Wii U, which I owned, had miiverse but Nintendo dropped it because of the headache of managing a social network. Free MP is an issue but it is only $20 (compared to a 80 year PSN).

Steamdeck OLED and Switch 2, are both things I own. The Steamdeck is great if you are into PC gaming but it isn't as straight forward as console gaming. It has a lot more tinkering. If you are into emulation it is a great option too. But again back to tinkering.

Just because Nintendo charges for games doesn't make them super greedy. They do not push mtx like others. For example Splatoon 3 all the content like guns and clothing is earned in game. You pay an online subscription yearly like every other console and it is the cheapest one of the 3, $20 a year.

Yeah, it's the main reason I have a hard time using other platforms. Threads fills my feed with way too many random models (unrelated to Kpop), but ideally I want a feed with Kpop, gaming, tech, and some entertainment. Bluesky has potential. But Twitter works if I mute certain big names etc
