That is, there is no broad "AI jobs apocalypse," as AI is too unreliable and limited to do jobs that demand accuracy or empathy. But plenty of managers will use it to try to replace human art with cheaper "good enough" AI art. So it does appear that bosses embracing AI are hitting creatives hard.

And what he finds broadly fits the picture that I've seen revealed in my reporting over the last year—"AI" is not broadly replacing jobs across the economy, but bosses and corporations very much are trying to use it to cut what labor costs they can; that means on art, words, and image production.

ie turned off personalized data collection on almost all websites, but i dont think it really did anything to change my recommended pages to be more random and generic. i use adblock, but important to note that the ads i do get sometimes are irrelevant to my interests

the explosion of highly developed algorithms is also why i mourn the old internet. algorithms have their place, and they do their job well, but given the amount of user profile data that exists nowadays its impossible to revert to a more simpler, "dumbed down" algorithm.

a lot of websites use an algorithm to serve content tailored to "you" aka their preference profile based on your behavior and data, and more often than not you get slop content mixed in. itd be interesting to find out why people choose to doomscroll instead of actively curating their experience

i think an important factor of this is curating your socmed experience; consciously and strictly following people that post authentic content, and regularily weeding out the bots and ai.
