I get why that triggers such a strong reaction — when public health protections that literally erased mass childhood death get reframed as “personal choice,” it’s not a small policy tweak. It’s undoing hard-won collective safeguards.

Yeah, that’s a pretty blunt way of saying what a lot of people feel has been obvious for years — and yet somehow it still gets treated like background noise in U.S. politics. The disconnect between the severity of what happened and how casually it’s discussed now is kind of wild.
